I Built a Free App for Every Trucker in America — Here's What's on It
Most trucker apps want a monthly payment. TruckingLifeWithShawn.com is free and stays free — truck stops, parking, breakdown help, daily diesel prices and CDL practice tests in one place.
Last updated October 12, 2026
Quick answer: TruckingLifeWithShawn.com is a free trucker app. It has 2,400+ truck stops and parking locations in 46 states, a breakdown directory, daily diesel prices, and free CDL practice tests. No 30-day trial, no card. It stays free.
By Shawn Gresham | 17 years CDL-A, zero violations
I've driven 17 years with zero violations, and I'm opening a CDL school in Dalton, Georgia. In all that time I watched every trucker app do the same thing: free for 30 days, then they want your card.
So I built one that doesn't. TruckingLifeWithShawn.com is free for drivers — and it stays free.
What's on it right now
1. Truck stop and parking directory
More than 2,400 truck stops and parking locations across 46 states, sorted by state and interstate. Find your spot before your clock runs out — not by circling exits at 2 a.m.
→ Open the truck stop directory · Find truck parking
2. Breakdown directory
Diesel repair, mobile mechanics, towing and tire shops along the interstates. When you're broke down on the shoulder, you need a phone number — not a sales pitch.
3. Daily diesel prices
Updated every morning, state by state, with the cheapest stops on top. Check it before you fuel.
4. Knowledge Center and practice tests
Free CDL articles and practice tests — for you if you're studying for your permit, or for the new driver you're training.
→ Take a free practice test · Browse the Knowledge Center
5. Free guides
The Truck Parking Guide and the GPS for Truckers Guide are both free on the site.
6. Reserve parking when you can't gamble
Some nights you can't risk not finding a spot. Truck Parking Club lets you reserve one ahead of time. Use my code SHAWN20 for a free night.
Business owners: get your shop in front of drivers
If you run a diesel shop, towing company, tire shop, or a restaurant with truck parking, drivers are already searching this site for you.
- Claim your free listing so your phone number and hours are right.
- Get featured at the top of your area. There are only three featured spots on each page.
→ See how featured listings work or call me direct at 404-933-9411.
Common mistakes
- Paying monthly for what you can get free. Check the free tools before you put another subscription on your card.
- Waiting until your clock is almost out to look for parking. Plan your stop early — or reserve one.
- Fueling at the first pump you see. Prices swing a lot from state to state. A 30-second check can save real money on a full tank.
- Calling the first tow number on the shoulder. Look up a shop that's in the directory before you need one.
